About Keichu Ryu |
||||||||||||
|
Keichu Ryu Karate was first taught publicly in 1960. The system was organized by Soke Karl W. Marx with the objective of providing practical self defense skills to modern Americans. Developed on American soil, the Keichu Ryu system is built on the classical techniques of karate, judo and ju jutsu. Keichu Ryu systematically develops important skills beginning with the first lessons taught. As they progress, students refine these basic skills, adding to them for the rest of their training. Each level of training builds on the foundations of the previous ones. For this reason, Keichu students are some of the best trained and most well-rounded martial artists around. The style name "Keichu Ryu" translates as "the art of devoting oneself entirely." Keichu students have always known that dedication is the key to success in any endeavor. Mr. Marx, as founder of the Keichu family, instructs that this devotion has a higher level. His California dojo is used as a Christian outreach ministry. At the Rapides School of Keichu Ryu Karate, we are not ashamed of the the gospel of Jesus Christ. While we gladly teach students of all faiths, it is our prayer that all will come to know the Peace of Christ.
